Japanese operator At Tokyo is to develop a new data center in Nagoya.Community Network Center Inc. (CNCI), Japan Internet Xing Co., Ltd. (JPIX), and At Tokyo this week announced plans for a new data center and connectivity hub in Nagoya.Operations at CNCI Nagoya Center #1 (NGO1), set to be located in the business hub of the Chubu region, are scheduled to commence in April 2027. Further details of the facility have not been shared.Founded in 2000 and part of the CNCI Group, Nagoya-based CNCI provides Internet, connectivity, and broadcast services.JPIX was established in July 1997 as Japan’s first commercial IX. The company will provide IX connectivity from the new facility.At Tokyo operates around 13 data centers across the Japanese market, including facilities in Tokyo, Osaka, and regional hubs like Fukuoka and Sapporo. Its CC1 data center is its largest in the country, with a capacity of 70MW. The facility is part of a larger cluster that includes CC2 and CC3. CC3 was launched in 2024 and boasts a capacity of 40MW.At Tokyo’s investors include Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco), Japanese security company Secom, and IT consultancy Intec.
