The U.S. and Iran continue to hold technical talks on nuclear issues following two days of strikes that took place this week.
According to Ukrinform, a U.S. official told ABC News this.
“The United States is still committed to finding a resolution, and technical talks continue. Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon,” the source told the outlet.
According to the official, the 60-day ceasefire and the memorandum of understanding are “performance-based,” and Iran’s actions “constitute failed performance at an unacceptable level.”
A CNN source stated that the U.S. is deliberately carrying out strikes and then pausing to avoid escalation and allow diplomacy to take effect. The government maintains a list of targets as a means of pressure.
