Born on July 28, 1986, Indian film actor, playback singer, and film producer, Dulquer Salmaan is best known for his performance in Malayalam films. A graduate from Purdue University, he is the second son of Malayalam film actor and producer Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail, aka Mammootty. Salmaan began his acting career with Srinath Rajendran’s ‘Second Show’ (2012) and earned the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for the movie. Following this, he appeared in the critically acclaimed ‘Ustad Hotel’ (2012). He gained popularity with Martin Prakkat’s 2013 comedy ‘ABCD: American-Born Confused Drama’ (2013). He made his Hindi film debut with the 2018 movie ‘Karwaan’ alongside actors Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar.
As of 2021, he has appeared in more than 20 movies. Some of his notable performances include that in ‘Neelakasham Panchakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi’ (2013), ‘Vaayai Moodi Pesavum’ (2014), ‘Bangalore Days’ (2014), ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ (2015), and ‘Charlie’ (2015).
In 2020, he launched his production company Wayfarer films. His first project as a producer was ‘Varane Avashyamund.’ He is the recipient of two Filmfare Awards South and one South Indian International Movie Award.
