TVTV NewsBBC BreakfastMike Bushell reported live from the Wimbledon queue during Friday's episode of BBC Breakfast07:50, 10 Jul 2026Viewers of BBC Breakfast were not impressed during the latest live show.Hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were back on the red sofa on Friday (July 10) to deliver the day's biggest headlines from across the UK and around the world.Later in the show, Naga and Charlie caught up with sports presenter Mike Bushell, who was reporting live form the Wimbledon queue, ahead of British wildcard Arthur Fery competing in the men's semi-finals.Fery will face the number two seed Alexander Zverev in the first match on Centre Court, before a blockbuster meeting takes place between number one seed Jannik Sinner and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.Referring to the crowds in the queue, Mike said: "Look at them all! Despite people not having a sleep last night, apparently there were some Olympic snorers around, look at the spirits everyone is in as they pack their tents away, trying to get up there on Arthur's Seat."The crowd behind Mike could be seen enthusiastically dancing with flags at 6.30am in the morning, while others were playing tennis.Viewers were quickly left distracted by the queue members behind Mike, with many feeling that their enthusiastic actions were "cringeworthy"."I wonder how many Wimbledon fans said no. Those 8 flag wavers looked too enthusiastic," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).Another added: "Can you play tennis in the background while Bushell is doing the sports news? But we're s*** at tennis. Doesn't matter," while a third said: "Imagine waiting in the queue and they [are] pratting about with the bat and ball."Someone else commented: "Cringe!!!" with another sharing: "Wimbledon? Looks like f****** Glastonbury."Another frustrated viewer wrote: "What are they doing behind Bushell. Desperate for the lavo or something," while someone else added: "Half 6 in the morning, I'm getting ready for a hot day toiling at work and I'm watching them dancing about getting ready to watch Tennis! Life is Not Fair!"An eighth fan said: "Why didn't these people dancing in a field with union jack bunting at 06:30 just say no they didn't want to embarrass themselves live on TV when #BBCBreakfast asked them to do it?"Someone else similarly shared: "Cringeworthy it's like they need to find him something to do! Absolutely no point to that segment (as usual)."Article continues belowElsewhere on today's BBC Breakfast, Naga and Charlie revealed that the Bayeux Tapestry had arrived in the UK, and also announced the death of former MP Ann Widdicombe.BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6amChoose Daily Mirror as a 'Preferred Source' on Google News for quick access to the news you value.BBC BreakfastBBC
