The Dakshina Kannada district police on Wednesday arrested a 55-year-old man from Coimbatore in connection with serial theft cases reported in May.Police identified the accused as V. Jayakumar, who was arrested in connection with three theft cases reported from Belthangady police limits and two from Uppinangady police limits. Police recovered an iron rod, a screwdriver, a bag, and two mobile phones from the accused.During interrogation, the accused revealed that, apart from the five cases in Dakshina Kannada district police limits, he was involved in one case in Surathkal police station limits in Mangaluru, four cases in Kerala and one case in Bengaluru.
