ILOILO CITY — Several sea trips connecting Iloilo to Guimaras, Bacolod City and northern Iloilo were suspended Thursday afternoon as the effects of Typhoon Inday continued to generate rough seas and strong southwest monsoon winds over Western Visayas.

In Sea Travel Advisory No. 1 issued at 5 p.m. on July 9, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Coast Guard Station Iloilo announced the cancellation of scheduled voyages following notices from FF Cruz Shipping Corporation, MV Weesam and Montenegro Lines.

The suspended trips include MV LCT Senado’s route from Bay-ang Port in Ajuy, Iloilo to Manta-angan Port in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental; MV Hailil; MV Weesam’s Iloilo Fastcraft Terminal-Bredco Port, Bacolod City route; and Montenegro Lines’ Lapuz Wharf-Jordan, Guimaras service.

The PCG said the cancellations were prompted by the enhanced southwest monsoon and rough sea conditions brought about by Tropical Storm “Inday.”
