Limpopo High Court Judge President George Phatudi (pictured) was found guilty of judicial misconduct.
The Judicial Conduct Committee has found Limpopo Judge President George Phatudi guilty of judicial misconduct after he abused his powers in a land dispute matter.
This comes after Judge Phatudi did not step aside from a case before him in which he had earlier, before he became a judge, represented one of the parties.
The committee found his conduct to be unbecoming of a judge, and he is directed to issue a written apology to the complainant, Advocate Sekgame Tebeile. He must also submit himself to a reprimand from Chief Justice Mandisa Maya, and she must issue him with a written warning.
The ruling was handed down by Deputy Chief Justice Dunstan Mlambo, who headed the committee.
