Protesters demanded the release of the detained man and called on Ukrainian authorities to address similar incidents involving mobilization.
According to the police on Wednesday, the incident began after TRC officers identified a man born in 1996 who was wanted for violating military registration requirements. The man was later taken for a military medical examination. Police spokeswoman Alina Podreiko said officers were deployed to maintain public order while speaking with those involved. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy said he was gathering verified information about the incident and urged residents to remain calm. “Please remain calm, act wisely, and remember who our real enemy is,” Sadovy wrote.
