A 322-acre data center could be built in White County, Indiana, by real estate developer Blue Ladder Development. The campus, located south of US Highway 24 and next to N 1100 W, would consist of four 327,612 sq ft (30,426 sqm) data center buildings, two substations, a warehouse, and an office building, according to a site plan posted on the project’s website.Blue Ladder has said that the campus will use a closed-loop cooling system and has emphasized that they will pay for their own power and bring their own capacity. But the company has yet to acquire the land parcel and secure an end user, according to Blue Ladder’s lead developer Josh Levine, who spoke with the Lafayette Journal & Courier on July 1.DCD has reached out to Blue Ladder to ask about the potential campus’ IT capacity and for more details about the project’s development timeline. It is unclear whether Blue Ladder has ever developed a data center in the past. Back in 2021, the company previously bought and zoned a land parcel for data center development in Forney, Texas, but never developed a facility there, according to emails from Peter Morgan, the Director of Community Development at the City of Forney, shared on a Facebook group opposed to data centers in White County, Indiana.DCD has also reached out to the City of Forney, Texas, for comment.Blue Ladder is hosting a second community forum for the data center on Tuesday, July 14, roughly two weeks after its first community forum on Monday, June 29.White County is located in northwestern Indiana and includes the city of Monticello. Data Center Map lists no data centers in the county.
