Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have neutralised two suspected kidnappers and recovered an AK-47 rifle, mobile phones and other incriminating exhibits, following the successful rescue of the abducted Prince of Okun Owa, Prince Idris.
The police disclosed that the operation was carried out by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit after sustained intelligence-led operations and tactical pressure on the criminal gang responsible for the prince’s abduction.
Prince Idris was kidnapped on June 30, 2026, at about 7:30 p.m. when armed men reportedly invaded his residence at Okun Owa and whisked him away.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, immediately ordered the deployment of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and other tactical teams to ensure the victim’s safe rescue and arrest of the perpetrators.
