Formula 1 photographer Kym Illman spends his time travelling the globe to attend "every F1 race, in every city on the calendar" — but he is also a travel vlogger.‌On his YouTube channel, Kym Illman Travel, the photographer shares everything from aircraft reviews and airline lounge experiences to hotel and restaurant recommendations and city guides.‌Kym, who lives in Lancelin, Western Australia, recently visited the idyllic Cotswolds, where former Grand Tour star Clarkson runs The Farmer’s Dog pub alongside his famous Diddly Squat Farm.‌It was Kym’s second attempt to visit the venue after he previously missed out because he had not realised he needed to book well in advance. This time, he returned to sample the food.He started with the £13 buffalo mozzarella salad. Kym said it was on the "small side" but looked "very fresh" and, after tasting it, praised the mozzarella as "beautiful".‌He then tried the "very tasty" soup and sourdough. For the main course, Kym and his guest ordered two steak pies costing £26 each and a Cotswold sausage priced at £22, choosing to try the pie first.Kym said: "First mouthful. Oh, I love it. I absolutely love it. This is not a traditional meat pie you get in Australia at a bakery. This is elevated. This has got a beautiful red wine taste to it."Got some lovely mashed potatoes here. This is food that makes me happy."‌Kym also enjoyed the sausage, describing it as "well above average", although he admitted he would "rather" have the pie.Discussing the clientele, Kym said The Farmer’s Dog attracts "normal, run-of-the-mill people" rather than "high-flyers with big wallets". He also noted that visitors had travelled from all over the world to visit the pub.‌Kym finished his meal with an Eton mess, describing it as "beautiful" and "gorgeous". He claimed everything he had eaten had been "sensational".For two people, the bill came to around £140 and included six plates of food, a glass of white wine, a bottle of mineral water and a 12.5 per cent tip. Kym said it was the best lunch he had eaten in Britain.After giving the pie a score of 9.1 out of 10, Kym shared his thoughts on whether The Farmer’s Dog was "overrated" and revealed the one thing that “irks” him about the experience.Article continues belowKym said: "So, is the farmer's dog overrated? No, I love the place, and I can tell you every one of these thousands that come here every day will say the same thing."Yes, you're going to have to fork out a few dollars, but if you want quality food and a great experience, it's going to cost you money. I've been to this place twice, and what irks me a little bit is that I'll probably have to wait another year to come back for my third visit."
