Sir, – Your news report about the extended heatwave conditions warns the “possible impacts of hot weather include water safety issues, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, heat stress and dehydration” (“Met Éireann forecasts heatwave conditions across Ireland from Wednesday”, News, July 7th).It lists warnings from Met Éireann about “disruption to public transport, animal welfare issues, potential drought concerns and potential wildfires and forest fires”.The article doesn’t mention the climate breakdown that has made this threatening news more likely. You chose to illustrate the article with two pictures of people enjoying themselves in the sunshine.
