The Zamfara State government yesterday boosted its emergency response mechanisms by distributing eight firefighting trucks to some local government areas across the state.

Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Lawal Barau Bungudu, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Engr. Amiru Musa Anka, officially received the eight firefighting vehicles from the Secretary to the State Government for onward disbursement to the local government fire service stations.

The handover forms part of the Zamfara State Government’s commitment to strengthening emergency response services, improving fire safety, and enhancing the capacity of local authorities to protect lives and property.

Receiving the firefighting vehicles on behalf of the commissioner, Engr. Anka expressed appreciation to the Zamfara State Government for the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards improving fire prevention and emergency response services across the state.

He stated that the firefighting vehicles would be distributed to the designated local government Areas to ensure timely response to fire outbreaks and other emergencies, particularly in underserved communities.
