The Federal Government has expressed sympathy to the Government and people of China following the devastating landslide that struck Tanchang County in Gansu Province, killing at least 21 people.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the government conveyed its condolences over the tragedy, which occurred on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

The ministry said Nigeria was saddened by the loss of lives and extended its thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.
