The cause of the landslide has not yet been determined.In central China's Hubei province, thunderstorms, strong winds and reported tornadoes swept through several cities, including Huangshi and Huanggang, killing at least eight people. One person remains missing.State media reported that 275 people were injured in Huanggang's Huangzhou district, while 408 residents were evacuated as a precaution. Rivers overflowed in Fangchenggang, submerging homes and vehicles, while rescue workers used inflatable boats to reach stranded residents. Authorities said more than 1,000 rescuers, supported by boats, vehicles and drones, had been deployed to the affected areas.
