July 8 (UPI) -- The Pitt and Hacks lead the nominees at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards.
Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay will host the 78th annual Primetime Emmys ceremony Sept. 14 at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Nominees for the first two categories, Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Variety Series, were unveiled Wednesday on Today. The Bear actress Liza Colón-Zayas and Somebody Somewhere actor Jeff Hiller announced the rest of the nominations.
The Pitt, an HBO medical drama starring Noah Wyle, leads the nominees with 25 nominations, including including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Wyle in his role as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch.
