Former Senator representing Imo North District, Ifeanyi Araraume, has disowned a statement circulating on social media purportedly issued by him on the Imo North Senatorial primary, describing it as false, unauthorised and the handiwork of mischief makers.

In a disclaimer issued on Wednesday by his Communications team, Araraume specifically distanced himself from a publication titled “A Message of Gratitude, Unity, and a Clarion Call to Rebuild Okigwe Zone,” insisting he neither authored nor approved its release.

He said the publication was fabricated to mislead the public, distort his position and create unnecessary tension within the All Progressives Congress in Imo State.

The former lawmaker reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, stressing that he remained “a steadfast, disciplined and committed member” of the ruling party.

According to the statement, Araraume is awaiting the party’s official position on the Imo North Senatorial primary and has not declared himself the APC candidate.
