The School Education Department has directed District Educational Officers (DEOs) to sensitise private schools and intermediate colleges on the importance of the Aadhaar Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) programme and ensure their full cooperation in its implementation.The instructions were issued during a review by School Education director E. Naveen Nicolas. Reviewing the progress, he stressed the need for timely completion of the programme.It was observed that some private schools and intermediate colleges were not allowing Aadhaar operators deputed by the School Education Department to conduct biometric update activities on their campuses. Mr. Nicolas instructed all educational institutions to cooperate with Aadhaar teams, noting that updated biometric records are essential for maintaining valid Aadhaar details and ensuring access to various student-related services.
