Godrej Agrovet is establishing an oil palm processing unit with an investment of ₹300 crore in the State.The plant is being set up at at Gubbagurthi village of Konijerla Mandali in Khammam district and it will provide employment to over 700 locals. The State government has already allocated 113.5-acre land to Godrej Agrovet for setting up the processing unit, a nursery, R&D centre and a seed garden.Godrej Industries Group president (corporate affairs) Rakesh Swami and Godrej Agrovet’S oil palm business CEO Sougata Niyogi submitted a report to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on the company’s expansion of oil plam cultivation in Khammam district. They asked the Chief Minister to allocate an additional 35 to 40-acre land for the seed garden.The Chief Minister and the company representatives held discussions in light of the upcoming launch of Telangana’s first private integrated oil palm complex.
