Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Congress leaders, including Ministers, on Wednesday paid tributes to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Mr. Revanth Reddy along with Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Nalgonda MP Raghuveer Reddy, and Ramagundam MLA Raj Thakur paid floral tributes to a portrait of YSR at his Jubilee Hills residence. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Revanth Reddy said the welfare programmes launched by YSR continue to occupy a special place in the hearts of people. He lauded the late leader’s commitment to the poor and said his legacy of welfare-oriented governance would be remembered for generations.After garlanding late leader’s statue at Panjagutta, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said YSR’s commitment to farmers was evident from his decision to sign the file providing free electricity to farmers within minutes of assuming office as Chief Minister.IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu described Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy as a visionary leader who inspired generations and left a lasting impact on public life. Recalling his personal association with the late leader, he said YSR had demonstrated that initiatives such as free power for farmers could be implemented successfully.Mr. Sridhar Babu also said that the Hyderabad Metro Rail project was among the major initiatives envisioned during YSR’s tenure. He asserted that the present Congress government was carrying forward YSR’s ideals and aspirations under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud.Meanwhile, in a separate statement, TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said the services rendered by Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy would remain memorable.Describing him as a rare leader, Mr. Goud said YSR had demonstrated through his governance that public welfare should be the focal point of administration. He added that the former Chief Minister’s political philosophy was centred on the advancement of farmers, the poor, students, women, weaker sections and other underprivileged groups.Minister G.
