ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula shared his lawyer's letter stating the accusations by the EFF of him using defamatory language “are factually incorrect, legally unsustainable and founded on a deliberately distorted interpretation”.
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has hit back against the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), refuting their accusations against him for using defamatory language as “factually incorrect, legally unsustainable and founded on a deliberately distorted interpretation” and calling them hypocritical.
This follows Mbalula’s remarks, in which he alleged that the EFF participated in anti-immigrant vigilantism by going door-to-door demanding that foreign nationals leave South Africa.
In a letter sent by the party’s lawyers dated Friday, July 3, the EFF told Mbalula to withdraw his remarks, issue a public video apology and retract the statements on all his social media platforms or face legal action. They warned that failure to comply would result in court action.
In response, Mbalula shared a letter by his lawyers, LS Mashifane Incorporated, stating that he rejects the EFF’s allegations in their entirety.
