IOL has announced that interviews for its ambitious newsroom and digital expansion project will commence on July 13, marking the next phase in one of the largest recruitment drives undertaken by a South African media organisation in recent years.
The recruitment campaign attracted an overwhelming response from media professionals across South Africa, with more than 3,500 applications received for a wide range of editorial, digital, multimedia, product and audience development positions.
Following a comprehensive screening and evaluation process, the applicant pool has now been shortlisted, with successful candidates set to be contacted over the coming days to schedule interviews.
The expansion project forms part of IOL's continued investment in strengthening its digital-first news operation, enhancing multimedia storytelling, expanding specialist reporting teams and accelerating innovation across its platforms.
