Bail denied for ex-school administrator in R4.6m case

A former school financial administrator accused of pocketing R4.6m will remain behind bars after being denied bail by the Kathu Magistrate's Court in the Northern Cape.

Maria Jessica Kuhn, 43, who is facing charges of fraud, forgery and uttering, appeared in court on Tuesday after her arrest at her Kathu home, near Kuruman, last week.

Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Tebogo Thebe said the unit's provincial leadership had taken a decision to contest bail.

He said the court denied Kuhn bail after being satisfied with compelling facts placed before it.
