An American Perspective on Foreign Aid, which evaluated Americans' opinions on foreign assistance ahead of the nation's 250th anniversary, also reveals near universal support across political party lines (90%) for funding overseas disease prevention programs. The findings suggest that despite the official closure of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) one year ago this month, Americans across the political spectrum continue to see disease prevention abroad as a core U.S. interest, not a partisan one.
