On Wednesday, July 8, Ukraine is expected to experience partly cloudy skies with sunny intervals, accompanied by brief rain showers and thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall is forecast in some areas of the southern and central regions, as well as in Sumy and Kharkiv regions, with isolated hail.
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center announced the forecast on Facebook.
"On July 8, unstable weather conditions in Ukraine will be caused by an active atmospheric front moving from Western Europe and associated with a cyclone over the Baltic region. It will bring brief showers of varying intensity accompanied by thunderstorms, with hail and strong wind gusts in some areas. Atmospheric pressure will fall rapidly, while humidity levels will fluctuate. Behind the front, cooler air from the west will move in, making the drop in temperature especially noticeable during the daytime in the western regions, Vinnytsia region, and most northern regions," the statement said.
Brief rain showers are expected across much of the country. During the day, thunderstorms are forecast everywhere except in the westernmost and far eastern regions. Heavy rain is possible in parts of the southern and central regions, as well as Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Isolated hail and wind gusts of 15–20 m/s are also expected. Only the southeastern part of the country is forecast to remain dry overnight.
