Ntuthuko Mchunu during the Springbok training ahead of the 2026 International Rugby match against Scotland on Saturday.

Ntuthuko Mchunu has been on the fringe of the Springbok team since 2022, yet has just three caps, but he hopes to re-launch his international career with an explosive performance against Scotland on Saturday.

Mchunu says he is determined to make this week’s opportunity count after a move from the Sharks to the Stormers a year ago saw his game flourish.

“First and foremost, it is a privilege to be back in the Springbok mix, and being able to build on the confidence I established from the URC season,” the 23-year-old said.

“The coaches here do well in making sure that whatever standard you had at your franchise level, you keep it and build on it. You have to add value and contribute to the plans for the Springbok team.”
