WIMBLEDON — Novak Djokovic questioned the decision of tournament referee Denise Parnell to pause play for the Centre Court roof to be closed during his quarter-final on Tuesday evening.
“You’re so proud of your rules and you are not sticking to any kind of rules,” Djokovic said after relinquishing the second set to Felix Auger-Aliassime.
The roof typically takes between eight to 10 minutes to close, and Djokovic appeared to be perplexed at the timing of the decision: 7.45pm.
“We’re an outdoor tournament,” Djokovic added. The Serbian had previously expressed his frustration when playing under the roof in the earlier rounds.
