The Paraguayan senator embroiled in a racism row with Kylian Mbappe has threatened to sue the French captain over comments which she says 'attacked her status as a woman'. Senator Celeste Amarilla had originally launched a furious tirade against the footballer centred around his behaviour during France's 1-0 victory over Paraguay on Saturday. She described Mbappe as a 'colonised Cameroonian, desperately trying to pass himself off as French' and as a 'brute who had not learned to write'.The Real Madrid star, however, hit back with a post of his own on X last night. He described Amarilla as a 'despicable woman' who was 'unworthy of her position' in office. 'Through your recklessness and your brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished,' Mbappe added. Now, in another impassioned rant, Amarilla has taken aim at Mbappe again. Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarilla has taken aim at Kylian Mbappe with another statement Amarilla posted a long statement on X titled 'OPEN LETTER TO MBAPPE' on Tuesday It came after the France captain accused the Paraguayan politician of racism on XWhile admitting she 'regretted' her earlier post because it 'repeated patterns I (she) detest', the official accused the striker of 'political violence against a woman'. Responding to allegations of racism, Amarilla began: 'I have never said anything against France; on the contrary, I am with you. I studied at a French school from the age of 2 until I was 17, and I finished my schooling here.'She added: 'It has nothing to do with France the problem is with you. 'Your arrogance and contempt have annoyed me greatly since before the match when you said: "if we have to get our hands dirty in the s**t, let's go put them there".'We are not stupid; we perfectly understand that the s**t meant the Paraguayan team, and the Paraguayan team is all of us. 'During the match, your arrogant behaviour was obvious - your contempt for every player, as if they were disgusting. And, finally, you disregarded our goalkeeper. That is something you don't do. Respect between rivals after a match is almost sacred - in war as in peace, in defeat as in victory - and you did not shake his hand; instead, you screamed your victory in his face.'You showed your contempt, your arrogance, and your lack of manners in a single second. For me, it hurt, and it hurt my entire country deeply.'During the match in New York - one of the most controversial so far this tournament - Mbappe appeared to laugh at Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gill after slotting a penalty past him. Amarilla was angered by Mbappe's behaviour during France's clash with Paraguay on Saturday The Real Madrid star appeared to laugh at Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gill after slotting home a penalty in the 1-0 winBut in the build up to the second half spot-kick, Paraguay were spotted trying to scuff up the penalty spot in a desperate attempt to put the French striker off. It was one of a number of incidents in which the South Americans deployed the 'dark arts' of the game in a bid to gain an edge. One moment saw French centre-back Dayot Upamecano elbowed in the ribs, while Jules Kounde took a palm to the face and the Paraguayans also tried desperately to have Michael Olise sent off with outrageous play-acting. In her statement, Amarilla went on to admit that her earlier post was made with 'boiling blood' and that she regretted 'treating you (Mbappe) poorly'. She later demanded an apology from the French star, who she said had 'no right to say that I am a despicable woman, unworthy of the office I hold'. And, in a press conference held after the release of the latest statement, she threatened the footballer with a jail sentence. 'Don't get into trouble with the Paraguayans, Mbappe. Here, we put Ronaldinho in prison. Don't underestimate me, Mbappe,' Amarilla is reported to have said. Her statement continued: 'Who are you to call me unworthy or despicable when you don't even know me?! Pure and simple gender violence!!! 'Political violence against a woman who got there through the popular vote of her people. Precisely, you despise me because of my gender; precisely, you offend me because I am a woman. 'You do not attack my color, nor my preferences; you attack my status as a woman and my political position. Retract your words to me, honor your French citizenship, and apologize, otherwise I may initiate legal action for gender violence.'Mbappe is yet to respond to Amarilla's latest explosive statement, but has already received the backing of both the French Football Federation (FFF) and the country's president, Emmanuel Macron. The FFF vowed to take judicial action against the politician, describing her remarks as 'utterly abhorrent and unacceptable'. Meanwhile Macron posted on social media: 'Another goal for Kylian Mbappe. Against racism this time. All my support. When words defile, our values respond: dignity, respect, fraternity'. Paraguay had upset the odds by beating Germany to set up the Round of 16 clash with France, though failed to beat the widely regarded favourites for the tournament.
