The three countries hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup have all been eliminated before the quarter-final stage, bringing an early end to the tournament hopes of the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The United States became the final co-host to exit the competition after suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat to Belgium on Tuesday.

Canada were the first of the host nations to be knocked out, losing 3-0 to Morocco last Saturday.

Azzedine Ounahi scored twice before Soufiane Rahimi added a late third to complete the victory.

Mexico also fell in the Round of 16 despite a spirited display against England. The Mexicans pushed hard against an English side reduced to 10 men, but ultimately lost 3-2, with Jude Bellingham scoring twice for the winners.
