"It will be a very interesting trip," Miruta told Euractiv

While most NATO ministers will board flights home after the summit in Ankara ends on Wednesday evening, Romania’s Defence Minister Radu Miruta has a different plan: he will sail home across the Black Sea aboard the country’s newly commissioned Turkish-built corvette.

Miruta is expected to sail across the Black Sea aboard the Hisar-class corvette, the Romanian Navy’s newest warship.

“It will be a very interesting trip,” Miruta told Euractiv when asked about his return journey. “I’ll go back home by travelling with our new corvette.”

The voyage carries personal significance for the minister. “I’m the same person who signed the introduction of this corvette into the Romanian Navy,” he said.
