The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, Mr Allwell Onyesoh, has praised President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi, for quick response to the flooding allegedly caused by the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway construction.
The senator made the commendation during an inspection tour of the coastal highway by the minister, some members of the National Assembly and other stakeholders on Monday evening.
He noted that Umahi organised a stakeholders’ meeting earlier in the day in an effort to find solutions to the flooding.
The minister had also directed deployment of 40 youths who would be monitoring the highway against vandalism and misuse.
