Despite being branded as the wedding of the year and no expense being spared, an insider has claimed the ceremony of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift was 'tacky'09:22, 07 Jul 2026Updated 09:23, 07 Jul 2026Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding has been branded "ghastly and tacky" by critics after they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony. The showbiz power couple said "I do" in front of 1,000 people at New York's Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3.‌And as the world eagerly awaits more details from their extravagant ceremony - including snaps of TayTay's Dior dress - one insider has said the day was "chaotic". It might have been dubbed wedding of the year by onlookers, but the wedding guest branded the T&T ceremony as "ghastly and tacky" as they spilled on what took place.‌From champagne reportedly running dry to having a buffet for their food, the guest clearly wasn't impressed by what was dished up. They admitted it felt like a "tacky" move by the billionaire and her American footballer husband.‌The source told the Daily Mail: "There were slightly chaotic scenes around the food carts with all these amazing A-listers having to stand in line. It wasn’t quite what I expected."And it's said the huge list of celebs had been separated into class levels, from A to D. Among the lowest levels was said to be the likes of Cara Delevingne, with the group getting to the venue three hours before events unfolded.‌As the day went on, the "more important" guests were allowed to enter later, according the source, with some said to have arrived much closer to the 5.30pm ceremony time.An insider told the publication: "It was surprisingly chaotic inside. Arrivals were staggered with people having to wait for hours with nothing to do. The cocktails only started at 4pm. People literally were twiddling their thumbs for hours."If you were in the 2.30pm time slot, you couldn’t even amuse yourself by checking your phone. You were just standing around like a lemon wondering why the hell you were forced to arrive so early."‌All guests had been asked to hand over their phones before the ceremony to avoid any unwanted leaks from the couple's special day, with those in attendance sworn to secrecy over events. The couple also plan to treat their guests to a blow by blow account of what went down on the day by sending them all a thank you gift that will include a 'documentary' of their nuptials.Despite the efforts by Taylor and Travis, details still were supposedly made public. Shortly after their vow exchange, AMC theatres CEO, Adam Aron, allegedly took to X. Adam, who partnered with Taylor for her Life of a Showgirl cinema release, didn't hold back in a tweet, which now appears to have been deleted.‌Lifting the lid on the decoration, vows - and even the newlyweds' first kiss, the reposted description seemingly revealed even the most intimate of details. The message claimed there were huge blown-up photos of Taylor and Travis everywhere at the wedding venue. It read: "Immediately upon entry, everything… floors, walls, ceilings… was draped in peach and white. Large blown-up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year from one year-old to late teenager-hood, were on display."The tweet continued: "They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small. Everything was close." And it said the vows had been long but intimate.Article continues belowIt's also said the pair gave away lavish prizes in a raffle-type game. The gifts on offer included jewellery and even a car.Like this story?
