Parents of newborn babies may have to fork out for more expensive infant formula after a popular brand ran out of stock across Samoa, with no indication of when fresh supplies will arrive.
The Samoa Observer confirmed with Ah Liki Wholesale, the local distributor of Farley's Golden infant formula, that the product is currently out of stock.
A representative for the company said they are awaiting the next shipment but could not provide an estimated arrival date.
"At this stage we are not sure when the next shipment carrying Farley's Golden formula will reach Samoa, so we cannot provide an estimated arrival date," the representative said.
A visit by the Samoa Observer to Frankie Supermarket, Mose Store and Losalina Eveni Store on Tuesday found the formula was unavailable at all four outlets.
