Resolution highlights misuse of financial systems by authoritarian states

THE HAGUE – The OSCE is to warn that “current or former NATO and EU officials” are in the sights of countries such as China, Russia and Iran using “transnational repression” to target individuals outside their territories.

The 33rd Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, currently taking place in The Hague, is unfolding against the backdrop of a growing number of international crises.

Among the most significant security-related resolutions adopted this week is a text on countering transnational repression (TNR), Euractiv has learned.

On Saturday, an expert roundtable on the issue was held in The Hague under the chairmanship of Italian parliamentarian Mauro Del Barba, with Euractiv invited to attend.
