The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of the Vikings Confraternity and a security guard allegedly involved in vandalising and stealing electrical cables in separate intelligence-led operations across the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, stating that the arrests were part of the command’s sustained crackdown on cultism, drug abuse and vandalism of critical infrastructure.
She noted that the three suspected cultists were apprehended during a raid on a residential building off Abak Road in Uyo, identified as a hideout for cult activities and illicit drug abuse.
The suspects were identified as Dick Udofia, Emem Charles and Ubong Matthew.
