File photo: Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke
Osun State Government and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, on Monday, differed on the expected outcome after the meeting Governor Ademola Adeleke had with the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
The PUNCH reports that the visiting IGP had told the governor that the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, informed him that some wanted suspects had been found to be hibernating in the Government House.
Adeleke, however, dismissed the allegations, saying Gotan had acted unprofessionally by deliberately refusing to arrest criminals reportedly hiding behind the political shield of the APC.
Reacting to the IGP’s comment during his visit to the governor, the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, in a video circulated on social media on Monday, said Disu’s remarks may embolden criminals in the state.
