New Delhi: Qatar briefed External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on the US-Iran MoU for the peace deal as he began his four-nation Gulf tour with Doha, which played a critical role in ending the conflict and lifting the blockade of the Hormuz Strait.During his visit to Doha on Sunday, Jaishankar met Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. The Qatari PM was part of the peace talks held in Switzerland two weeks ago.The two ministers reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral ties, with a focus on energy, trade, investments and people-to-people relations, according to an official statement. Jaishankar commended the mediation role played by Qatar in the ongoing US-Iran negotiations. Al Thani briefed the visiting minister on the MoU, the negotiations and navigation through the Hormuz Strait, it is learnt.
