The Independent National Electoral Commission has partnered with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to train its staff on promoting integrity and preventing corruption ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The two-day Anti-Corruption Education and Sensitisation Workshop, themed “Corruption-Free Election: Integrity Matters” commenced on Monday at INEC headquarters in Abuja, bringing together electoral officers and anti-corruption experts to strengthen transparency in the electoral process.

Declaring the workshop open, the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, represented by National Commissioner, Mrs May Agbamuche-Mbu, said the training was coming at a critical time as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 polls, a statement issued by the commission’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Etta-Messi, said.

The statement added that Agbamuche-Mbu stressed, “the importance of integrity in election management, noting that INEC, as the nation’s electoral umpire, had a duty to lead conversations that shape national values because elections remain the bedrock of democracy.”
