The 58th Standing Committee meeting on academic affairs of Manonmaniam Sundaranar (MS) university was held on the university campus in Abishekapatti on Monday.Presiding over the meeting, Vice-Chancellor N. Chandrasekar said the revised curricula introduced for the current academic year would be placed before the Council for approval after detailed discussions.Referring to the ‘Skill Development’ scheme (Naan Mudhalvan scheme introduced by the DMK government), he said the programme continued to be implemented, and any changes to the scheme would be carried out in accordance with the government directions, if issued.Emphasising the need to equip students for future opportunities, Mr. Chandrasekar said the university curricula were being revised revised with students.’ welfare and employability in mind. Future syllabi would be designed to align the emerging technologies and contemporary industry requirements.During the meeting, members deliberated on the revised curricula introduced for the current academic year in the university and its affiliated colleges across Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi and Kanniyakumari districts.
