Tata Group retailer Trent reported a 19% year-on-year rise in standalone revenue for the first quarter of FY27, helped by continued expansion of its Westside and Zudio store networks.In a business update released on Monday, the company said standalone revenue from operations, excluding GST, rose to Rs 5,666 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 4,781 crore in the year-ago period. As of June 30, 2026, the company operated 1,312 stores, including 301 Westside outlets, 982 Zudio stores — seven of them in the UAE — and 29 stores across other lifestyle formats.According to Reuters, several consumer companies, including Marico and Dabur, have reported resilient first-quarter growth despite uneven urban demand and elevated input costs.Brokerages have continued to view Trent as one of the stronger performers in the retail sector, supported by rapid store expansion and steady demand for affordable fashion. Reuters reported that HSBC had projected around 21% revenue growth for the quarter, while Bernstein recently said faster expansion of Westside stores could provide an additional growth driver alongside Zudio.Trent had reported a 26% rise in fourth-quarter profit in April, helped by strong consumer demand and continued expansion of its retail network, Reuters added.
