DUBAI: Supermodel Bella Hadid has helped fund a new clean water well in Uganda through Amy Bell Charities, supporting a project that will provide safe drinking water to children and families in a rural community.
The charity recently unveiled “Bella’s Well” in Uganda, describing it as its 999th water well. Images shared on social media showed local children gathering around the newly installed borehole, with the organization thanking Hadid for helping make the project possible.
Amy Bell Charities works with communities across Uganda to improve access to clean water by constructing sustainable boreholes. Alongside installing wells, the organization provides hygiene education and sanitation initiatives designed to reduce waterborne diseases and improve long-term health outcomes. The charity says access to clean water can transform daily life by reducing the time spent collecting water, enabling more children to attend school.
Hadid has long used her platform to support humanitarian causes and has frequently spoken about her Palestinian heritage. In recent years she has publicly advocated for humanitarian relief efforts, while also supporting charitable initiatives around the world.
Her cosmetics brand Orebella earlier this year partnered with an organization that supports sufferers of Lyme disease.
