A two-week international academic programme on “Homological Methods in Noncommutative Algebra and Number Theory” supported by the CIMPA — International Centre for Pure and Applied Mathematics, France, — has commenced at SASTRA on July 6.The international academic programme is organised by the School of Arts, Sciences, Humanities and Education (SASHE), SASTRA, and is expected to bring together eminent mathematicians, researchers, faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, research scholars, and students from the country and abroad to exchange knowledge and foster international academic collaboration in the field of mathematics.Participating at the inaugural function, Sujatha Ramadorai, professor, University of British Columbia, Professor Srikanth Iyengar, University of Utah, and Professor Bernard Keller, University of Paris, highlighted the importance of homological methods in noncommutative algebra and number theory and emphasised the value of international collaboration in advancing mathematical research.
