Finland and China ended Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit with a shared message of stronger cooperation, wider dialogue and closer engagement on issues that matter to both countries. Meetings in Helsinki and Turku pointed to renewed momentum in bilateral relations and reflected broader efforts to strengthen communication between Europe and China at a time of global uncertainty.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi concluded his visit to Finland after meetings with President Alexander Stubb and Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, with both sides expressing support for expanding cooperation, maintaining dialogue and working together on international challenges.
The visit formed part of Wang’s Nordic tour, which also included Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Finland occupied a key place in the programme as Beijing stepped up diplomatic engagement across Northern Europe and sought closer contact with European partners.
During talks in Turku, President Alexander Stubb and Wang agreed on the value of stronger cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
