Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, suffered a ballistic missile attack by Russia early Monday, according to the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko.

Local authorities said that at least seven people were killed and 24 more were wounded in the attacks.

Klitschko took to his Telegram channel to say that people could be trapped under the building's rubble between the building's seventh and ninth floors in Kyiv's historic Podil district.At least five people were killed by Russia's attacks on UkraineImage: Thomas Peter/REUTERS

Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's city military administration, said the a residential building in the Podilskyi district partially collapsed.

He also said that several multistory buildings were damaged in the Darnytsia district and that people were believed to be trapped under the rubble.
