What began as a routine fishing voyage has turned into an anxious wait for families of the six fishermen in Visakhapatnam who remain missing at sea.For Kari Masenamma, the wife of Karri Chinna who was rescued by a passing merchant vessel on Sunday morning, is relieved that her husband survived. However, she remains worried about the fate of his six crewmates. The couple had been looking forward to celebrating their wedding anniversary on July 21.The six missing men have been identified as Appalaraju, Bandiyya, Garagayya, Seetudu, Chinna Ammoru, and Chinnayya—most hailing from Mukkam village in Vizianagaram district and the Bheemunipatnam region.Families of the missing fishermen, including children and women have been keeping vigil at the fishing harbour, hoping for information from the search teams about their loved ones. Every ringing phone raises hopes of good news, only to be followed by the crushing weight of silence.The incident took place on July 4, when the crew lost contact, after their vessel reportedly developed engine failure amid worsening weather conditions in the Bay of Bengal.
