The senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District of Ondo State, Olajide Ipinsagba, has appealed to aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress in the state to accept the outcome of the party’s primary election in good faith.
The outcome of the primary has generated controversy in the state, with some party members staging protests in Akure, the state capital, against the list of candidates for the National Assembly election released by the National Working Committee of the party and forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The aggrieved members alleged that the candidates’ list released by the NWC did not reflect the outcome of the National Assembly primaries.
Ipinsagba, in a statement made available to our correspondent on Sunday, said there was a need for all party members to sheathe their swords and come together to work for the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
The federal lawmaker said the outcome of the primary should serve as a rallying point for all APC members in the state to unite for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the party’s candidates for the National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly.
