More than 1,200 runners from across Andhra Pradesh participated in the ‘SmartVision Amaravathi 10K Run 2026’ held under the theme ‘Run for Amaravathi’ along BRTS road in Vijayawada on Sunday. Sponsored by SmartVision Eye Hospitals and organised by Global Events and Entertainment, the event aimed at promoting fitness, healthy living and community participation.Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) flagged off the run at Seethannapeta gate, featuring 10K, 5K and 3K categories, attracting professional athletes, students, corporate employees, amateur runners and families. The event began with a zumba warm-up session, while participants collected their race kits and bibs at a pre-event expo held at Decathlon Vijayawada. The organisers arranged timing bibs, hydration points, medical support, route marshals, volunteers, finisher medals, e-certificates, event T-shirts, refreshments and goodie bags.
