British drivers have won their home Grand Prix nine times in the last 12 editions of the race; a stat that will give reigning champion and last year's winner Lando Norris, last weekend's Austrian Grand Prix victor George Russell, and record-holding nine-time British G.P. winner Lewis Hamilton much heart.
The young man all three are hunting down is championship leader Antonelli. The Italian is 40 points to the good and, with a podium finish last time out, it would be ridiculous to suggest that his title chase is beginning to wobble. But it's now two straight races where he's failed to take the checkered flag first, and the gap at the top is beginning to shrink ever so slightly. A win in England would certainly help calm the 19-year-old's nerves. There are plenty of points on the table this weekend, with Sunday's race being preceded by the fourth Sprint race of the season.Want to stay on top of all the F1 action from Silverstone?
