At least eight people, including four children, were shot during an incident in Brooklyn's Coney Island late on the Fourth of July, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD), as reported by ABC News.The shooting occurred at around 10:37 pm local time on the 2900 block of West 31st Street in Brooklyn's Coney Island neighbourhood, prompting a large emergency response.According to the NYPD, those injured include two men aged 37 and 33, two women aged 25 and 21, and four boys aged 14, 12, 7 and 6.All eight victims were taken to nearby hospitals by emergency medical services. Seven were reported to be in stable condition, while the 21-year-old woman remains in critical condition, ABC News reported, citing the NYPD.Police said a firearm was recovered from the scene, but no arrests had been made as of Sunday. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims or disclosed a possible motive behind the shooting.The investigation is ongoing.
