ByREUTERSJULY 5, 2026 11:19Updated: JULY 5, 2026 11:38At least eight people have been shot, including four children, in Coney Island on Saturday night, the NYPD announced.They were shot as they were watching fireworks during Fourth of July celebrations in Brooklyn at around 10:35, police say.Residents told the New York Post that the area is known for violence, but it is unclear how many gunmen there were or why the shots were fired.Among the wounded were a 37-year-old man, a 33-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman, a 21-year-old woman, a 14-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy, ABC News reported."All victims were transported by EMS to local area hospitals where seven people were listed in stable condition," the NYPD told ABC.The 21-year-old woman is reportedly in critical condition.A deli worker near the scene told the New York Post, “The cops, they say they found a book bag with a gun under the trees...
